Privacy Policy

Summary

• No account required. CD Tracker does not require you to sign up or log in.
• No data collection. We do not collect, sell, or share your personal data, and we have no access to the information you enter.
• Your data stays with you. Your CDs are stored on your device and, if iCloud sync is on, in your own private iCloud account.
• No tracking. The app contains no analytics, advertising or third-party tracking tools.

Information we collect

CD Tracker does not collect personal information, analytics, advertising identifiers, crash reports or usage data. The developer does not operate any server that receives your data.

Information you enter

The information you enter (such as institutions, amounts, rates, dates, owners, tax settings, document numbers, notes and coupon payments) is stored on your device. It is never sent to us.

iCloud sync

If Sync with iCloud is turned on (it is on by default and can be turned off in the About tab), your CD data is stored in your private iCloud database using Apple's CloudKit service, so it can sync across devices signed in to your Apple Account. This data is protected by Apple and governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. The developer cannot see or access it. If you turn sync off, your data is kept only on your device.

In-app purchases

CD Tracker Pro is purchased through Apple's App Store. Apple processes the payment; we do not receive your name, payment details or Apple Account information. The app only checks with Apple whether Pro has been purchased on your Apple Account.

Exchange rates

To show totals in US dollars, the app downloads public currency exchange rates from ExchangeRate-API (open.er-api.com). This request contains no information about your CDs. As with any internet request, the provider may receive standard network information such as your IP address.

Notifications

Maturity reminders and coupon reminders are scheduled on your device using iOS local notifications. When you tap “Mark as Received” on a coupon reminder, the change is saved on your device (and synced through your private iCloud account if sync is on). No notification data is sent to us.

Widgets

CD Tracker's Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets show a short summary (such as monthly interest, upcoming coupons and your next maturity) that the app saves on your device for the widget to read. This summary never leaves your device and is not sent to us. Widgets on the Lock Screen can be seen without unlocking your device. CD Tracker Pro users can turn on Hide Amounts in Widgets (About › Security): widgets then show •••• instead of amounts, and amounts are not saved in the widget's summary at all. You can also remove the widgets.

Backups

If you export a backup, the file is saved where you choose (for example, the Files app or iCloud Drive) and stays under your control. We never receive a copy.

Data security

We recommend protecting your device with a passcode, Face ID or Touch ID. Data synced through iCloud is protected by Apple's security measures.

If you turn on App Lock, CD Tracker asks iOS to confirm your identity with Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode. The check is handled entirely by iOS; the app only learns whether it succeeded and never has access to your face, fingerprint or passcode.

Deleting your data

You can delete any CD in the app at any time. Deleting the app removes the data stored on the device. To remove data synced to iCloud, delete your CDs in the app while sync is on, or manage your iCloud data in Settings › your name › iCloud.

Children's privacy

CD Tracker is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
